Meet Pastor Lou
Louise "Lou" Bender is the new pastor of Medford Congregational United Church of Christ in Medford, MN. She brings a seventeen-year background in ordained ministry, plus experience in non-profit administration and teaching. She graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, TX, and has served churches in Northwest Arkansas, South Minneapolis, St. Paul, Shoreview and New Brighton, MN. She has a special interests in arts and in children and youth, and loves any activity which combines the two! During the week, Rev Bender works as Coordinator of the East Side Network Cafe, a collaboration of organizations which serve youth on the east side of St Paul. She also reads, knits, plays with computers, and sings with the Minnesota Chorale. "Pastor Lou," as she is known around the church, lives in St Paul with two young daughters and a cat named Sophie.
